The Euro ensembles do show retrogression at the end of the month. Most models show a major offshore ridge. Certainly could amplify and be big for us or it could park itself right over the West Coast. Only time will tell, but maybe a glimmer of hope?

Most forecasters are calling for this to be an epic cold event for the east in the beginning of February. Not unusual.

You are right!

I received around 20" of snow last Feb, so hopefully it brings good luck the second time around.

Hopefully there is something left over for us after the East gets hammered.

The East may not get hammered. For all we know, that cold trough could shift west and with the models are pointing towards amplification, thats all we would need. May not and given climo, likely won't happen but its still a long ways out and a possibility.

No sign of fog out here, unless it's down at the beach. I'm pretty well at the highest point on the peninsula.
