My memory is going on me but when is the last January that we had an arctic outbreak with arctic outflow warnings and one or two snowfalls.

2007 was not so bad: http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... 07&Month=1

2005 as well: http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... 5&Month=1#

2004: http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... 4&Month=1#

1998: http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... 8&Month=1#

1996 is probably the best one "recently": http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... 6&Month=1#

Anyway, it was a long time Vancouver didn't have a cold and snowy January.

I would have guessed 96 but couldn't remember if January was that bad compared to the previous Dec.

I would have guessed 1896 but couldn't remember if January was that bad compared to the previous Dec. You see back then I use to drive a horse and buggy to work in 10 feet of snow that's how White Rock got it's name it use to be covered up in snow back then.
