The smoke is really thick above this morning. Just a faint orange orb where the sun should be.

Wow! How much rain fell?

Here, 4.2mm.
6.2mm in YVR.
First rain since one month.

A lot. There are no weather stations in Cache Creek but Ashcroft had a lot and so did Clinton. So did Lillooet where my friends live, but the weather station doesn't measure precipitation.

Oh, and I'm learning now that Ashcroft/Cache Creek got hit with another massive rainstorm yesterday, dumping 15mm in Ashcroft, but likely much much more in Cache Creek. Highway 97 is closed because of a mud slide. So is highway 1 and so is highway 99 toward Lillooet. It took them a solid week to clean up the highway closure from a week ago, and now more. Crazy, this is supposed to be the driest place in Canada and they get two massive rain storms in two weeks!

Wow, so last night rain was like squeezing water from a rock. Just enough to make everything wet but not enough to water the vegetation. Sad. Everything works against us here all year round. When we want or need rain.. there is no rain. In winter when we want it to stop it never stops.. and now we are heading into another week of hot weather. Just grrrrrreat.
