Models showing a slight cooldown by mid-week. Good. Its just too early for this kind of heat. 20 celsius would be great but 30 is kind of ridiculous for this time of year. Let it come in July. Any sustained heat will just mean more flooding and more problems. The rivers around Pemberton and Whistler are just raging too but no flooding yet but it looks close i was there today. Some of those rivers feed into the Harrison lake system plus the flooding on the Fraser could back up into Harrison river so I could see how Harrison lake could be getting high.

29 degrees at Blackcomb!? Yes, I know that's not the top of the mountain, but it's above the valley bottom in Whistler!

Also, crazy how COLD Abbotsford was! Only 28.4C versus 31.3 in Agassiz, 32.1C in Hope, and even 29.3C in West Van and Pitt Meadows. You guys must have been wearing winter coats yesterday!!! BRRRRR!

The actual temp was probably right around 30C here. The official station is reading low but mine was reading a bit high.

Actually, there is an error.

It was 26.1C in Whistler Blackcomb (937m): http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_data/ ... imeframe=2

But around 32C (and not 29C) in Whistler Nesters (659m):

Interesting, I'm not sure where the 29 came from. Your source must be sniffing glue again. That or they mixed up Princeton or Revelstoke with Blackcomb. Also, it's interesting how often the coastal places like Squamish or Port Alberni are hotter than Osoyoos.

Ya, we all know that EC are not the best...

Top 101 hottest places in BC yesterday:
1) Pemberton Airport = 34

What do you think about this data? Do you know the station? Not underexposed? Or foehn wind?

Accurate. Pemberton is one of the hottest places in Canada, and is only 200m above sea level. Adiabatic heating means the temperature rises 1 degree every 100m you drop in elevation. So if Whistler at 600m is 30C, Pemberton will be 34C. Whistler is closer to the ocean too, so sometimes the difference is even greater. If it's cool or wet weather, they are very similar. If it's winter, Pemberton is colder. Nighttime temperatures will be the same in both places.

Anyway, here is the forecast for Whistler-Pemberton today: Sunny. High 29 except 33 near Pemberton. UV index 8 or very high.

EDIT: Also, Pemberton has one of the highest diurnal temperature variations in Canada. It's very common for the temperature to jump 4 or 5 degrees in an hour. The peak is very short, and then it's on the way back down again. Very cold nights given the low elevation. By contrast, Lillooet to the east might only hit 33C, but it will stay there for several hours, and be 4 degrees warmer by morning.

The reason Pemberton is so hot and can jump several degrees between the hours is that there is no wind there. It's also why it's so cold at night.

Yes, I'm ok with that. I was pretty aware of everything you said. ;)

What I mean is if the weather station itself is underexposed, as Pitt Meadows is?

Of course!

By the way, this is very suspicious... Today in Permberton.
