I think it’s mid and high level smoke.

Hey Jr. you wanted to know what offshore flow looks like.

Surface pressure map. Higher pressure in the interior and lower pressure just along the coast.

This mid-high level smoke will keep temps down a couple degrees at least. A bit of a cool start here only 13c. With the smoke I won't hit the forecasted high of 30c, no way. With the long range looking hot and dry there will be no end to smoke now until the times we get an onshore push or once we see a major pattern change. Cliff Mass said most of the smoke now coming from fires here in BC instead of California so its gonna get worse before it gets better. Fun times..if you're from China and used to this kind of air quality.

I hit 11.8C this morning. It's 20.4C now and hazy.

One nice thing about haze/smoke is that it doesn't inhibit cooling at night.

The air quality in East Abbotsford is absolutely horrible, including the obvious bad smoke smell. Are there any areas west towards Vancouver Island or Sunshine Coast that have better air quality? I'm wondering if there is some type of satellite photo that shows which direction the Smoky air is moving...
