Arctic outflow warning in effect for:

Fraser Valley - east including Chilliwack

Strong outflow winds and cold wind chill values are expected or occurring.

A strengthening arctic ridge of high pressure over the B.C. interior will cause outflow winds to increase and temperatures to fall over Howe Sound, Whistler and the eastern Fraser Valley tonight. The combination of strong winds and low temperatures will cause wind chill values to drop to near minus 20 tonight and persist through Thursday.

Anyone who is not dressed warmly is at risk of frostbite and hypothermia in cold weather. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds. Drive with care, especially along coastal routes exposed to outflow winds.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.tempetepacifique-pacificstorm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports to #BCStorm.
