March 2018 Current Conditions and Forecasts

Postby stuffradio » Mon Feb 26, 2018 9:57 am

The current 12Z GFS shows some brief bouts of ridging within the next 10 days. Maple Ridge only needs less than 170mm precip for the month of March to reach average.

We may get some nicer temps for a week. Look at the difference in temps!

Does it look like the NAM, ICON, EURO and GEM/NAVGEM are sending bands of precipitation/snow up from that big low through the lower mainland on Friday afternoon and evening? All rain or a chance of snow/flurries?

12Z NAM is looking a bit snowier for Friday now. Bringing bands of snow up from that low hitting the coast of Oregon.

The 3km Nam shows nothing accumulating in the lower mainland

Yeah it was the 12 km NAM that showed bands of snow coming off that low. RGEM shows a second low forming, but I'm not skilled enough to know what that would mean for snow. Maybe hinted at a bit in other models, but not anything like the RGEM.
