Yes but as time goes on the penetration isn't as deep. It's not a viagra induced polar latex...errr vortex.

I think if this winter turns out to be a coast to coast La Nina, I think both coasts will get hit equally with the arctic air, most likely at different times. First up is the East but the West will be next :D :D :D :D :D

SST's have been flip flopping. Now it seems the Nino 4 region is dropping whereas the Nino 3 region is rising, slightly. We'll see what happens with that but I think it will have major implications as to where the cold goes and how frequent the blasts are.

Wow! that's like 2 weeks of the most boring weather since the invention of the round wheel, it would mean spring skiing on mud with highs in the teens on the slopes. Temps down here under fog laden sky's would barely crack 5c with lows around plus 2c.
