Rainfall warning has been lifted. I ended up with a 2 day storm total of 80 mm. I felt like this event underperformed but maybe my expectations were too high. Oh well. :)

I don't feel like it underperformed, at least based on what the models were showing. The EC warning was a bit too broadbrushed as usual, but the warning text mainly focused on areas north of the Fraser.

I just added up my storm total... 8 mm since midnight, so that puts me at just shy of 60 mm... 59.5 mm to be exact, but 60 mm sounds better.

Total for November is 205.1 mm.

I'm going to start keeping track of my monthly totals beginning December. Since I got my rain gauge mid way through November, I figured it would make more sense to start tracking monthly totals at the beginning of next month.

Good plan Abby Jr. Remember readings twice daily l just take my reading based on a 24 hour period ending at 4 p.m. due to work it's impossible to take twice daily.

Environment Canada uses all the longer term weather stations in Canada to investigate climate change. They combine nearby stations and make adjustments if the locations were moved slightly or if the measurement methods changed slightly. This gives them far more weather stations in Canada, and thus makes it easier to determine how the climate is changing over time.

And YET, despite the combination of weather stations, there are now only 2 weather stations recording precipitation in the entire territories in their database, equally half of Canada's landmass, and only 101 stations in the entire country total, 40% of which are BC thanks to the high number of coastal lighthouse stations.

39 in BC; 22 in Quebec, 12 in Ontario, 7 in Saskatchewan, 6 in Manitoba, 4 in Newfoundland & Labrador, 4 in Alberta, 3 in Nova Scotia, 2 in Nunavut, 2 in New Brunswick, 0 in the Yukon, 0 in the Northwest Territories, and 0 in Prince Edward Island.
