I did the math and I could save $15-17 a tank (65 litres) by filling up in Sumas. I thought it would be a bigger difference, but apparently they're suffering high prices there as well.

Ya, one of the main reasons for the spike is that two refineries are down for maintenance south of the border. The experts are predicting $2/litre this summer, but in my view prices will fall over the summer once the refineries are up and running. I expect we'll see super cheap prices like 140 cents/litre during the summer. LOL

I saw 149.9 today in Abby. That's the highest I've ever seen here.

I forgot that Maple Ridge was basically the same as Vancouver with the Translink tax.

Yes it is. Thankfully I have Silverdale and Mission to get the cheaper gas.

Here's a tip:

Instead of Googling "abbotsford gas prices", just type www.abbotsfordgasprices.com directly into your address bar. What you get is a much better website than the standard Gas Buddy site. For some reason this site does not show up on Google, which is why you need to enter it manually.

This works for other cities, too, including Vancouver. It doesn't seem to work for all cities, but it's worth a try.

Gas is around 140.9 today in Abbotsford.

Gas jumped almost 10 cents overnight to 144.9 here, but Costco is still 11 cents cheaper. I wouldn't want to be waiting in line there.

There was a good article in The Province today. They covered pretty much every factor causing Vancouver's gas to be roughly 30 cents more expensive than eastern Canada's.

I knew most of this already, but the one thing that surprised me was the refinery margin.

135.9c here in Chilliwack seems almost cheap. Drove through my old stomping grounds in Mission and saw 126.9c the other day. :o
