Climate Analogue

Where is your city's temperature analogue? You can find out here: http://www.codeminders.com/weather_similarity

Interesting observations:
1) Kamloop's closest match is Levenworth, WA
2) The best matches for Victoria are in Washington and the UK, not other places in BC.
3) The closest match for Tatlayoko Lake, BC is almost 10,000 km away in China.
4) Dawson City, Yukon has a climate closer to Siberia and Thompson, Manitoba than it does with Whitehorse.
5) Hope's climate is closest to places in German and France, not other places in BC.

Neat tool as long as you don't mind the limitations. It doesn't take into account average highs or lows, so places with large diurnal ranges could end with the same mean temperature as more moderate climates.
"It's not logical... it's meteorological."

Near Hwy 1 McCallum exit; elevation 55 m (180 ft).

Here's a link to my new climate matching tool, which uses a statistical matching algorithm built using R to match city climates. A wide range of variables are used: daytime temperature highs, annual lows, night-time lows, means, humidity, precipitation, elevation and latitude-distance

Climate analogues of Edmonton are shown in the map below, but you can select any of 750+ cities to get their match scores.
