Theme Choice

Postby Hound » Sun Feb 23, 2014 4:45 pm

Ok, I spent a long time going through tons of themes and seemed to have narrowed it down to the ones in the list below.
I tried to include multiple colored themes rather than the standard blue. It's important to note that a theme should be easy on the eyes and allow for easy reading, so colors too bright or too dark have been left out. These are all mild and should be easy on the eyes for everyone. Deciding on an actual color, I guess we will have to vote.
You can also mention any of the themes you really like, or really hate.

Click each link to see the theme and navigate to a post to see how the posts look within the forum.
Basic colors are blue/green/grey/ for most.

Just out of curiosity, can we have multiple themes installed, with a default, and allow users to select their own?

Or are we stuck with selecting one theme globally?

Yes you can have multiple themes, and the user can select. The problem with that is if you modify the forum in any way by adding hacks/mods, you will have to edit every single theme to match your edits, or the forum wont display that feature for the person using it. So it can be a REALLY tedious job.

Yerk. I get it. Not fun. So our options are either have one (or two) themes, and be open to modifying them, or have several and have a global nix on mods.

Pretty much.
I'd recommend going with one main theme that allows us to mod the forum if needed, and 1 extra theme as the mobile phone access theme for people who want to use the forum from a mobile device. In this case the mobile theme will always be basic and clean, and the regular forum will be the powerhouse with any extras you want to add.
