Insane! How much snow did you end up getting?

I didn't measure it but I estimate about 5cm. Winds were pretty strong and snow amounts varied.

That's none of your damn business!

Okay, okay, only joking, but not really since snowfall is no longer measured in Calgary. Ya, Environment Canada and yet another cut back!

Anyway, it's important information so I will supply you with the numbers at places that do record snow, via EC:

AWCN15 CWWG 030046
WEATHER SUMMARY
FOR ALBERTA
ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA
AT 6:46 P.M. MDT MONDAY 2 OCTOBER 2017.

DISCUSSION.

AN INTENSE WEATHER SYSTEM IN SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN BROUGHT HEAVY
SNOW, VERY STRONG WINDS AND WHITEOUT CONDITIONS TO SOUTHERN ALBERTA
TODAY. THESE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT AND
SLOWLY IMPROVING FROM THE NORTH.

THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF WEATHER EVENT INFORMATION RECEIVED BY
ENVIRONMENT CANADA BY 6:00 PM MDT.

1. SUMMARY OF HEAVY SNOW IN CM:

CORONATION 20-25
TROCHU 15-20
KANANASKIS 14-17
IRVINE 15
OLDS 15
STRATHCONA 11
BOW ISLAND 10
HOLDEN 9-10

Pretty sure that the Kananaskis total of 14cm likely came from our buddy Tom Graham (Twitter: @Washed_Up).
Other totals are also likely reports from the community. Looks like I need to step up and start reporting my measurements...

Yes. Major changes (cutbacks) hit EC in 1995 and then again 2001 when many stations were closed or downsized. Then in more recent times, many airport stations were transferred to Nav Canada, somewhere around 2012, and Nav Canada couldn't care less about weather records and data. They just care about current conditions, so stations were downsized again.
