We had a cold front move through Calgary yesterday evening.
It reached south Calgary at about 10PM sharp. We were standing outside at the DQ awaiting the blast of wind and dust. The front was very well defined on radar thanks to all of the dust that was being picked up by the wind.

Looks like it hit YYC airport at about 9:38PM.

Must have been pretty cool to witness. The cold fronts here are nothing like they are in the prairies.

Looks like it'll be quite chilly tonight. Some spots might even get down into the low single digits?

It got down to 7C this morning in Calgary but that is actually warmer than the average low of 5C for this time of year.
Cold fronts are often marked with a pretty distinct and abrupt change in weather in Alberta. In this case it was a light to moderate wind from the west where we were ahead of the front and it suddenly became a strong wind from the north as the front hit. We were near a construction zone and we watched the plastic barricades get blown across the street. We were watching the trees shake and bend just to the north of us as it got close. I see from the metars there was a 6C temperature drop in 11 minutes. It was rare to see such a dramatic shift in Vancouver during a cold front passage.

That's none of your damn business!

Okay, okay, only joking, but not really since snowfall is no longer measured in Calgary. Ya, Environment Canada and yet another cut back!
