Re: August 2018 Currrent Conditions & Forecasts

Smoke or not, 36 and 37C would be a tall order this late in the year. The temperature at YXX has cracked 37 in early September in at least one occasion, and I'm pretty sure it's been over 35 at least a couple times (not fact checking here), so it's probably possible as we're not that late in the ye...

Re: August 2018 Currrent Conditions & Forecasts

Starting to see signs of a legitimate pattern change in the models. Will it actually happen? Is early next week summers parting shot of heat?

I don’t use one. They are mostly terrible when it comes to the forecast.

Wildfire smoke will likely drop the modelled temps a few degrees. Smoke or not, 36 and 37C would be a tall order this late in the year. Mr. M l must say you've been bang on this Summer. Of course forecasting convection is like finding a 4 leaf clover but good work we all forward to your continued a...

Re: August 2018 Currrent Conditions & Forecasts

Just looked at the 12z euro and it was insanely hot for Monday and Tuesday. Almost within the range where I would start to take its surface temperature output seriously. Re: August 2018 Currrent Conditions & Forecasts

Models have been kicking around with the idea of some convection next Tuesday. Monday looks quite hot.

6.2/32.3C finally, with a negative dew point (around 10% RH). Interesting FACT: the two Chilcotin weather stations are the only places in Canada with an average August afternoon dewpoint under 2C outside of the high Arctic areas of Nunavut. The Chilcotin is the area west of the Fraser in the Caribo...

Re: August 2018 Currrent Conditions & Forecasts

Are we going to see that extreme heat that was modelled for later this week.? Models have been fairly consistent on increasing the sea breeze second half of the week. Sunday/Monday look hot. Today probably would have been low 30’s sans smoke. Kristi G says more smoke on the weekend Monty. Yea proba...
