Re: Daily And Monthly Precipitation Totals 2019

What storm? 10.0mm overnight for a monthly total of 109mm pathetic, I thought being sandwiched in between the mountains to the north and south I would do better out here in south Sardis. The last few months have been wonky remember. Look at Monty's total, that area is normally a bit drier than Abby...

Re: January 2019 Current Conditions And Forecasts

What on earth is that supposed to represent, departure from normal? If it's saying we'll be 6C below average for Jan 3rd to Feb 18th, then we have a lot of ground to make up. Imagine how cold the first half of February would need to be for that to be accurate. Toronto was nearly 10C below ave...

Re: January 2019 Current Conditions And Forecasts

Thursday/Friday's system looks to track just south of the border and with chilly air in the canyon at that time look for possible surprises for the west and central Fraser valley, thoughts? That setup would be a slam-dunk if we had arctic air in place. As it stands though, probably too mild aloft. ...

Re: January 2019 Current Conditions And Forecasts

SardineMan, do you know what you're looking at when you look at the models? You seem to make a lot of comments saying what they show, until someone else corrects you. Just wondering thats all. The currrent GFS has nice carrots again especially at hour 384      Major snowsto...

Re: January 2019 Current Conditions And Forecasts

92 was a great winter, but ironically, they consider the period from 1991-1995 a prolonged el nino event. Yeah, totally. January 1993 is probably the least talked about month of winter greatness. I realize that many of us were too young to remember it, but it seems to never really get mentioned by ...

Re: January 2019 Current Conditions And Forecasts

Whats shocking to me is that we haven't even had one arctic outbreak yet, even just a brief one. In previous years, even the bad ones featured at least something by now. Just awful. Yeah, it reminds me of 1991/92 for those that are old enough to remember. I could not recall a winter so bad in...
