Re: March 2017 Current Conditions and Forecasts

Not totally true...I know some people that sold their $1,000,000 60 year old home in Coquitlam, or 1.7 million home in BBy or Vanc and have moved to the east coast to a home on acreage for $200,000 to 250,000. If you can deal with 4 months of winter, the other 8 months can be just as good as here. ...

Re: February 2017 Current Conditions and Forecasts

If I'm not mistaken I think the person who created WVP also runs it and also created this forum. I stand to be corrected . You are right. They used to do a good write ups for weather / patern potential until 4-5 years ago, since then I am not sure if it's computer generated forcast. Correct. I star...

Re: February 2017 Current Conditions and Forecasts

Hey Nimbus, do you recall if in 1964 there were widespread power outages lasting for several days? I have not heard about that storm but I have heard there were a number of good storms in the 60s. My parents talked about the winter of 1968-69. They had to use rope to hold their car doors shut - the...

Re: GOES-16 first pictures

Yes I saw this on Global news it looks awesome will the real time images be available online as well? That would be really nice. Although I haven't heard anything about that, i think that even with the current GOES satellites you can build or buy a receiver and obtain regular transmissions. However...

GOES-16 first pictures

At long last, we finally get to see images from the long-awaited GOES-16 , the first in the next generation weather satellites that promise a significant upgrade from the previous generation that we have relied on since the program began in 1975. Among the improvements: ⋅ Three times more ...

Re: Show Off Your Personal Weather Station!

Glacier, I definitely think the tall trees in my backyard interfere with wind readings. Either that or I really do live in a calm spot for winds. My top gust so far is 23km/hr which surprised me because on one of the arctic outflow days those trees were swaying like crazy and I figured it would be ...
